Dry hair

Most of us are familiar with the feeling of having a dry hair, when you keep running your hands through your hair and feel its roughness. The cause is simple, it occurs when your scalp doesn’t secrete enough oil, or your hair can’t keep the moisture.

When you grow older your scalps will decrease their oil production, that is the reason that it may be more common in older people. Dry scalp peels and sheds and, therefore, create flakes and dandruff and when you brush, it appears on your shoulder. Also, dry hair can occur when your hair fails to keep the moisture.

In a healthy human, every single strand of hair is covered by a protective layer known as cuticle. Usually, the layers of cuticle lie tightly together and as a result the moisture is kept inside. However, when these layers are separated, the moisture and oil will escape.

Treating dry hair is not that difficult and can be achieved by simply making some changes in your lifestyle. For example, avoiding harsh shampooing your hair every day, using a hair conditioner that can moisture your hair and skin, avoiding chemical hair products and using organic shampoo and also to blow-dry less frequently can help to overcome this problem. You may also want to test various shampoo and conditioners to find out which one works best for your hair.
